Volunteer at Coastal Cleanup Day Saturday, September 20th!

Join Explore Ecology and Project Clean Water (County of Santa Barbara, Water Resources Division) at Coastal Cleanup Day on September 20th, 9 am to 12 pm, at the beach of your choosing! This is one of the largest volunteer events on earth, and is internationally recognized. The event encourages people to clean up and pick up trash that is littering their local beaches, creeks, rivers, and parks.

Last year alone, 952 volunteers collected over 1,900 pounds of trash and 645 pounds of recyclables! This came from 25 sites ranging from Rincon Beach Park to Guadalupe in Santa Barbara County!

There are 27 cleanup sites in Santa Barbara county– find your beach here!

Project Clean Water will be supplying recycling and trash bags, gloves, and data cards for volunteers…. BUT…. they are encouraging you to BYO-BOB (Bring Your Own Bag Or Bucket) and bring some extra gloves, just in case they run out!
