The new website for the Sustainable Aquaculture Research Center (SARC) at the Bren School of Environmental Science & Management is up and running! Professor Hunter Lenihan is director of this organization that is committed to use “advance ecosystem-based marine aquaculture through interdisciplinary science and multi-stakeholder collaborations.”
Projects range from advancing local Santa Barbara mariculture operations to expanding giant clam aquaculture in French Polynesia. Check out the website for more information about aquaculture in general, the species cultivated, environmental issues associated with fishing, and the exciting solutions SARC is implementing. Stay tuned for more about Professor Lenihan’s research, including a new video about his work by two Bren students in the Strategic Environmental Communication and Media Focus.
