On November 6th, the Association of Environmental Professionals (AEP) hosted their annual Fall Kickoff Event at the Santa Barbara Maritime Museum for the AEP Channel Counties Chapter. A number of Bren School students and local environmental professionals attended the event to mingle and network. This is always a wonderful opportunity for Bren students to practice their mingling skills and make important connections with those who are currently working in their desired career field. Over 40 companies were represented at the event, including AECOM, Blue Tomorrow, Channel Islands National Marine Sanctuary, Rincon Consultants, and The Nature Conservancy, among many others.
The event was kicked off by John Karamitsos, AEP Channel Counties Chapter President. Sarah discussed the coastal resileince approach that is currently being implemented in Ventura, highlighting the key elements of the Ventura endeavor, specifically the science, economics, partnerships, management, and custom tools that involve this project. Sarah’s energy and expertise held a very attentive and engaged audience.
